Andrea Emshoff

By day, Andrea works in Corporate Communications at Abbott Laboratories, a pharmaceutical company based out of north suburban Chicago. In the early mornings, evenings and weekends, she is an avid triathlete, marathoner, and mother to two rescue labs, Eddie and Jake. She enjoys spending time with friends (four and two legged) and being active outdoors.

Andrea first became acquainted with LABMED when she adopted one of her boys from Central Indiana Lab Rescue. In April 2002, she ran her first marathon and wanted to do something to motivate her training and to help Labs that needed medical attention�so she and her training partner Mary contacted LABMED about doing a pledge sponsorship during their training and donated the proceeds to LABMED. Soon after, Andrea joined LABMED�s Board of Directors.

She hopes to continue her fundraising efforts in conjunction with her races�she raced at the Ironman Wisconsin in September 2003 and will put on the "pledge driving hat" again soon.

Andrea grew up in the Chicago area and graduated from Indiana University. Her favorite food is stir-fry and her ambition in life is to move to a warm climate.
