About LABMED

Margie Dykstra

Sabrina takes a jump

Margie lives in a small town in Oregon with her Labradors (in varying numbers) and two Beagles (Whoopie and Reggie). Her small acreage is also home to two goats and there are plans for chickens soon.

Margie participates in a variety of activities with her dogs. She has titled dogs in conformation, obedience, agility and field and is working on a tracking title. She is an founding member of the Luckiamute Dog Training Club and the Mid-Valley Labrador Lifeline (Oregon's Labrador Rescue) and is also a member of Willamette Agility Group, Puget Sound LRA and the LRC, Inc. You can see Margie's dogs at http://home.att.net/~blythmoor.

In addition to the dog activities, Margie loves the outdoors. Hiking, fishing and camping are activities that get squeezed in whenever possible, but not nearly enough. To fill the need, Margie has started a backyard bird feeding project that attracts a variety of species to her yard. Her herb garden attracts lots of birds and butterflies, and a variety of berry bushes and fruit trees provide the raw materials for her interest in herbal medicine, wine & vinegar making and gourmet cooking.

To finance these interests, Margie puts her MS degree in Nutrition to work at the local school district where she manages the food service program at six schools.
