About LABMED

Vicki is a Marketing Director for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida. A native of Pennsylvania and graduate of Penn State University, she and her husband, Michael (a writer/editor), moved to Florida in 1992. They currently reside in Macclenny, Florida, a rural town outside of Jacksonville, where they enjoy country living with their two dogs (Nikita, a 7 year-old Keeshond and Chubbles, a 1 ½ year-old Lab mix rescue) and cat (Ansel, another rescue).

Vicki and Michael became acquainted with LABMED in April 2001, when LABMED funded two rescues (a mother and pup) they were fostering and treating for heartworm and parvo. After successfully placing the mother, they decided to permanently add the pup (Chubbles) to their family. Vicki and Michael have been active in all-breed rescue ever since.

Vicki joined the LABMED board in May 2002. In her free time, Vicki enjoys working out (biking, running, weight training), reading, traveling, antiquing, rafting and writing poetry. Most of all she enjoys family vacations ("kids" in tow) to their haven in the North Carolina mountains.
