I love your website. I remember going to it some time ago and liked the cookbook with lab facts in the inside margin. I believe it sold for about $20. I can't find it. Do you still have it? Thanks.

Someone left an article from Bark on my desk at work, so I'm sitting here crying, looking at all the wonderful work you all have done. My lab found her way to me through Aces Foundation and FOCAS, two southern Cal. groups. God bless you all!

Hi, thanks for the work you do. 15 years ago, I rescued a stray black lab. I was a struggling working girl at the time, barely keeping a roof over my head and the dog needed a lot of care. There was no one around to help me and I'm glad Labmed exists today. I'm unemployed now but as soon as I get a job, I will start sending you money. I love Labs. God bless you.

Discovered your organization in "Just Labs" magazine. Interesting web site. As a current owner of a chocolate lab, bl. labx, a shiba Inu x, and previously a bl lab and a yel lab X, I want to start donating to a labrador organiztion in a addition to my local animal shelter/animal welfare league. Was going to donate to my local lab rescue here in the D.C. area, but have had mixed experiences with them. Good luck to your organiztion.

Just a note to thank you for your wonderful work! I have a seven year old female yellow lab' who has needed lots of veterinary care. Cancer at two years ols, a bout with pancreatitis and allergies have been the culprits. Still, I wouldn't trade Lexi for the world! I would consider adoption of a needy yellow lab' and have a large fenced yard and 24 hour access via a pet door. I do have two cats that have grown up with exi and no children at home. I think what LABMED does is great!!! I truly believe that dogs are a family member not just a pet. I have 3 four-legged kids at home. Onyx my 2 year old Lab/Border Collie/Pitbull mix and she is our first "child", Sabian is an 8 month old Siberian Husky mix, and Goliath who is our 2 1/2 month old Golden Retrieve/Lab mix. They bring so much joy and laughter in our home, I just don't know what I would do without them. It's funny to watch Onyx, she acts as the mama dog to the boys, yet she never had pups. She and Sabian we got from the shelter were both fixed before they were able to go home. Which is fine by me because I had no intent to breed them. Goliath will be fixed in a few months. Its just so nice to see that there are truly good people in this world who care for their animals as much as I care and love mine!!! Keep up the good work!!!

My first lab adopted me about 4 years ago--she came walking up to my back door one cold morning and followed me from window to window. She looked terrible with every bone in her body showing. I could'nt stand it and took her to the vet that very day. She weighed only 36 pounds and I did not expect her to make it. By the time we got to the vet, her name was "Sweetie". She did make it and is fine today--battling bad hips and old age, but happy and fine and living up to her name. My second adoption happened just last month--a male chocolate also walked up and looked at me like "well, I'm home!" Cocoa is in much better health than Sweetie was and is becoming a big part of our family. Between my adoptions, we bought a yellow female, Sunshine. We love our labs, won't ever live without them and hope to be "adopted" again if one of them needs me. Your orginization is wonderful!! Bless you and all of your helpers. I will add you to my list of charities that I support. Keep up the good work!

I read about your organization in Reader's Digest last month and was very moved. I too have a yellow lab in our family. His name is Scout and he is 98 lbs of pure love and is my constant companion. Although I am not in a position to make a donation at this time, you can count on my support soon. I anticipate always having a lab in the family and when the time comes, we will look into adoption with LabMed. Scott and Amy

I adopted a 5-month-old female black lab who had been turned in by a family because they "couldn't teach her anything no matter how much they beat her." She is a lovely girl, very smart, and very happy now. But it took over a year before she stopped hiding in the garage or behind a chair when I got out the garden hose or a broom or rake, or rattled a pan too loud. She still gets scared sometimes, but she's made so much progress. Best wishes, and now that I've found your site I will visit often.

I enjoyed reading about all of your success stories. We adopted a yellow Lab named Gus in 1993. We were his fourth and final home. He was with us approximately 7 years but the second round of cancer took him April 22, 2000. We had tried a second round of surgery for the tumor on his side. We however weren't prepared for the inoperable tumor closing in on his esphogas and vocal cords which would have eventually choked him. It broke our hearts to see him go down hill in such a short time. He was only 10 1/2 when he died. He had been the dog my son laid on and told secrets to. He had been a reassuring friend to our son when he was first coming home alone after school. Gus would lie near the front door of our home when my husband was out of town. Pets that are rescued have such special personalities. They appreciate everything you do for them. We now have an 18 month old Chocolate Lab pup which I purchased from a pet store. He was definitely a puppy mill product and has had a lot of special needs. Eating has been difficult for him and one of us has to be with him for every meal. He is very active and needs a lot of guidance, praise and positive reinforcement. Ben is smart as a whip and can do the sit and stay easily. We may in the future have room for a friend for Ben and will look to your Web site to guide us. Your work and dedication to the Labs are wonderful.

I just read my Just Labs magazine, found your web site and have been crying and smiling for the past hour as I read about all labs in need. I have been a foster home for the past 3 years for lab Rescue of NC. My first foster dog is now a part of our family. He is an example of poor breeding, neglect and how loving and devoted the lab is. Tucker is also the lab on our web page for rescue. I was going to resign from my fostering for rescue but now I have a renewed spirit and determination to help this wonderful breed. All of the 30 labs we have fostered, all have been so loving and gentle despite the horrible lives they had prior to rescue. THANK YOU for all your efforts and hard work and for giving me the inspiration I needed to continue as a foster home.

Pierce Ryan(My black Lab Buddy) was given to me three years ago from a farm hand that couldn't take care of any more pups. Pierce was the littlest of 6 form the litter. He is now 92 lbs of pure muscle and is a Firehouse dog. He stays with me when I am on duty and entertains the Public when we give tours of the Firehouse. I wouldn't know what to do without him. I have been receiving LABRADOR-L Digest for over a year now. It breaks my heart to view how we as a human race treat animals who only want to please their families. If I had a chance to have a farm with 100 acres of land. I would want to adopt (of course with some help :-)) all animals who have been abandoned. One day maybe. Thanks for all your great work. I am a black lab owner and my buddy is named Bandit. I wouldn't last a minute without him. God bless all Labs and you folks. Thanks again.

I have two 15 month old chocolates. We "rescued" the second one from a bad home, but, they've both rescued me and my husband. They make us smile and laugh when everything seems to have gone wrong. I didn't want any dogs - thought they were too much work. But, they're worth every bit of work and more.
