Past NewsMarch, 1998: Buddy Clinton to be NeuteredGreat news -- According to an official statement released by White House, President Clinton has decided to have the First Dog neutered. LABMED is thrilled to have played a major part in the President's decision. Early in January, a LABMED board member met personally with a top White House official to present President and Mrs. Clinton with a letter, information on neutering, a LABMED cookbook signed our Buddy, and a bandana. During the initial extended meeting we were able to discuss the benefits of neutering Buddy, and the impact this decision would have on the general public and the Labrador community. Subsequent discussions followed. On Tuesday, March 10, LABMED received a personal call from White House spokesman Mike McCurry, informing us that the President has decided to neuter Buddy, and thanking us for our on-going involvement which contributed significantly to that decision. LABMED applauds President Clinton for setting an example of responsible pet ownership! |
