WHAT IS A GICLEE PRINT The Giclee print process begins by scanning the artwork photo transparencies, positives and negatives into a computer all aspects of the image can be manipulated to achieve the truest result. The computer then uses a four-color process in which four million droplets of ink are sprayed per second; to varying thickness called “stochastic screening”. These minuscule random dots create higher image detail and allow greater ink densities to improve tonal range and contrast. Printing surfaces are acid free paper or canvas. “Like Father- Like Son” is printed on acid free summerset velvet a top of the line archival paper. Each print takes between 45 minutes to an hour.
