The Quilting Bee

LABMED's A Stitch in Time IV Saves . . . Labradors!

The 2004 People's Choice contest has started. View the blocks on the 2004 People's Choice Contest Page and vote for your favorite!

Our first four LABMED quilt projects were such a success that we've decided to do it again! The idea is simple.

We have created a quilt that will then be raffled off. The masterpiece will be "shown" on-line and with luck, at some specialties. We will also have a "People's Choice" contest for the favorite block created.

How Can I Participate?

The theme of this quilt is A Day at the LakeA small group of quilters who have made blocks for previous years' quilts and/or quilts for the LABMED auctions got together and designed a quilt. The quilt was divided into 9 sections and blocks were assigned to each of the group members. The quilt top was then put together by the originator of the design, Gretchen Pinkel, and next sent to Madison, WI where a member of the local quilt guild there has volunteered to assemble and machine quilt the entire quilt. The quilt blocks are on display and we will announce the winner of our People's Choice contest in October, 2004!

The deadline for casting a vote for your favorite block in this quilt top and to purchase a raffle ticket to win this quilt is October 1, 2004. The winning raffle ticket will be announced at the LRC, Inc. National Specialty in Colorado on October 8, 2004. You don't have to be present to win.

Whether you choose to vote for your favorite quilt block or just make a monetary donation toward our mission, you'll be helping us to raise the funds needed to give second chances to rescued Labs and Lab-mixes in need of medical care.

Need Inspiration?

We've pulled together a past projects webpage that features the quilt projects from 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003 to showcase the creativity and beauty inspired by our favorite dog breed. Please come and visit our past quilts, read the stories behind the squares.
