Labrador Head Quilt Block

Technique: Paper piecing
Artist's comments: I developed the Labrador head from foundation piecing two years back for a small wall hanging I made for one of LABMED's auctions. Because the block size was 12 1/2", I chose to expand the square by adding a border of "flying geese" - so appropriate for Labradors!

I chose colors to evoke a sense of the sky. Finished off with a blue border. The pieces are inset, which I think contributes to the flowing quality of the border.
