Artist's comments: I became a foster mom for South California Labrador Retriever Rescue after reading about this organization in our local newspaper. Connor was my first foster lab. He was a gentle giant weighing in at 105 lbs. He had wonderful manners, did well on the leash, no jumping or digging. Connor found a permanent home within two weeks . . . it was love at first sight. After caring for such a wonderful dog, it becomes difficult when that time comes.

The design of this block came to me while I was doing a scrapbook for our doggie daycare. The doghouse is a print designed by K. F. Cook 1997 and the photograph is my own.
