Success StoriesAbby 13, July, 2007Abby 13 is the Buddy Arnold Memorial Fund Dog for July, 2007.
Sweet Abby was 10 years old when she was found wandering stray. Unfortunately, she was also heartworm positive, and the shelter holding was having a hard time finding her a home. LABMED stepped in to help fund her heartworm treatment, and she was quickly adopted by a family with a fond appreciation for senior dogs. Abby is just one of the many Labs and Lab-mixes whose heartworm treatment was funded with help from LABMED. Please help us educate dog owners about heartworm disease. Not everyone is aware of how life-threatening heartworms can be and how easy it is to prevent them. Heartworms are spread by mosquitoes, and there are very few areas of the US where heartworm is not a threat for at least part of the year. Administering heartworm preventative on a regular basis is an important part of responsible dog ownership! |
