Success Stories

Angel, August 1999

AngelLittle Angel had endured lifetime of abuse when she was rescued by a caring couple who happened to see her on the side of the highway. At one year old Angel had been so neglected by her owners that they hadn’t noticed that she’d outgrown her collar. The chain had embedded itself in her neck as she grew. When she was found, she was weak, dehydrated, and anemic. The surgery to remove the collar could not erase the nasty scar around Angel’s neck and the wound took four weeks to heal, but Angel’s emotional scars are disappearing.

With the veterinary care provided, Angel is doing fine. The love and attention of her rescuers and her new adoptive home have put Angel on the road to a full recovery. LABMED was pleased to play a part in Angel’s rescue.
