Success StoriesArchie2, May 2004Archie2 is the May Buddy Arnold Memorial Fund Dog
Archie, a young black male Lab, was taken to a shelter by local animal control workers who responded to a report that an injured dog was living in a barn. When no one claimed Archie, he was released to the Yadkin County NC Humane Society. Taken to a vet for evaluation, Archie was found to have a dislocated elbow on his left front leg. Even before it was known what treatment would be needed, Archie was adopted by a staff member at the vet clinic! Archie needed surgery to repair his injured elbow. LABMED was happy to be able to help with the costs, and North Carolina Lab Rescue contributed some funds also. Archie's surgery went very well and he is expected to make a good recovery. He has settled down nicely in his new home - no more nights spent fending for himself in a barn for Archie! |
