Bailey10, December 2003

Bailey10

Bailey is a handsome, 8 year old chocolate Lab who was rescued from a shelter by Promises for Pets in North Jackson, OH. Lake Erie Labrador Retriever Rescue helped pay for many of the medical bills for Bailey, including neutering, vaccinations, heartworm testing and heartworm preventative. LABMED was asked to assist in funding the actual heartworm treatment for Bailey and we were happy to contribute to a second chance for this wonderful dog.

Although heartworm treatment can be very stressful for a dog, Bailey tolerated the treatment well and is making an uneventful recovery. Happily, Bailey has been adopted by a family who appreciate having a well-mannered, older Lab as their new pet. Lucky Bailey will not have to worry about heartworms in the future since his new family will be keeping him safe with a simple, once a month heartworm preventative. Please share Bailey's story with your dog-owning friends and be sure that they are aware of how life-threatening heartworms can be and how easy it is to prevent them.
