Bentley, September, 2001

Bentley

Like many dogs from the south that end up in shelters, Bentley tested positive for Heartworms. For some reason, Bentley's owner decided he no longer wanted this 5-year-old chocolate and turned him into the shelter in Arkansas.

Unfortunately, the shelter has no funds for medical treatment, but a wonderful vet has decided as his contribution to rescue to treat the animals for just his cost of the medications. Nursing care is done by shelter staff.

After treatment, Bentley developed a cough and an infection, but that cleared up with antibiotics. Bentley is now heartworm free and as long as he stays on preventative will remain so. LABMED was happy to provide the funds needed to treat Bentley for both the heartworms and the infection.

Bentley is now heartworm free and looking for his forever home.
