Bowser, December 2003

Bowser is the December Max's Memorial Fund Dog

Bowser

Bowser is a chocolate male Lab that was hit by a car and taken to a Denver, CO veterinary clinic for treatment.Poor Bowser suffered from many severe injuries, including a punctured lung and fractured bones in his legs and pelvis. Bowser's owner was known but refused to pay for any veterinary care and eventually relinquished Bowser to the vet clinic. Safe Harbor Lab Rescue then stepped in to help and Bowser's many injuries were repaired. Helping Hands Foundation contributed to the costs of treating Bowser and the veterinary clinic provided many services at a greatly discounted rate. Several employees at the vet clinic also contributed funds for Bowser's care.

Bowser quickly won the hearts of everyone at the vet clinic. The veterinarian treating Bowser wrote:

"For the week between his injuries and surgery, Bowser sat in the middle of our busy ICU on a mat and hung out. He is the sweetest Lab and won over the hospital (staff) in no time. He is great with other dogs and with kids. The most amazing thing about Bowser is his great disposition and attitude."

LABMED was happy to be able to contribute to the costs of Bowser's surgery. Bowser has been adopted by one of the Good Samaritans who found him by the side of the road. He has made an excellent recovery from his injuries and is enjoying all the benefits of his second chance in a loving new home.
