Buddy17, June 2002

Buddy17Little Buddy, just 4 or 5 months old, was found sitting in a front yard in Memphis, Tennessee, in May 2002. His hip was dislocated, either from being bumped by a car or from being kicked. The yellow pup was taken to a clinic for evaluation after attempts to find his owner proved fruitless. The veterinarian who examined Buddy determined that Buddy need an FHO--a femoral head osteotomy--to fix the dislocation.

The vet clinic absorbed the costs for Buddy's boarding and the clinic staff donated funds towards the vaccines for Buddy's "puppy shots." Labrador rescue of Memphis offered to handle all other arrangements such as aftercare, fostering, and adoption. All that was needed was funding for Buddy's surgery. LABMED was contacted and we quickly voted to provide funds for Buddy's FHO.

Buddy is now recovering in his foster home and doing well. He'll be ready for a forever home soon.
