Success StoriesCasey6, July 2003Casey6 is a Pecos' Memorial Fund Dog.
This beautiful one year old black Lab was removed from her owners by animal control officers when she was found to have a severely damaged rear leg. The Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) of Sand Springs, OK, was asked by the local shelter to provide foster care and medical assistance for Casey. Casey's leg had been injured when an electrical cord had become wrapped around it, cutting off the circulation. The leg could not be saved and Casey would need an amputation to restore her to good health. LABMED was asked to help with the cost of the surgery and we were happy to be able to contribute to Casey's second chance at an active life. Casey quickly adjusted to life on three legs and is expected to make a full recovery. In a very happy ending to Casey's story, one of the vet techs who helped treat her fell in love with the sweet tempered Lab and adopted her. Casey has now found the loving family she deserves! |
