Success Stories
Dylan, August 1999
Life took a sudden turn for the worse for Dylan when his foster family found him in a pool of blood
after his neutering surgery. A trip back to the vet determined that there was no problem with the surgery itself. The vet restitched the incision and the bleeding stopped. But there was still a
question as to whether Dylan was suffering from von Willebrands or some other disorder Lake Erie Labrador Retriever Rescue needed to find out if Dylan was going to be ok to put in their adoption
program. LABMED agreed to fund diagnostic tests for Dylan. Happily, the tests revealed that Dylan’s clotting problem was transitory and not the result of a permanent bleeding disorder. Dylan
has since been adopted by a family with two small children.
