Success StoriesFaith, January 2003Faith is available for adoption, check the LABMED Adoption Page for contact information. Faith, a black female about three years old, was found in January 2003 by a couple in Baltimore, MD who were out for a run. Faith had probably had multiple litters and been dumped after she became sick and could no longer make money for her owner. She had open pyometra (her uterus weighed an astounding 8.5 pounds when removed), and she was malnourished, emaciated, and anemic. She also had a mammary mass. The rescuers contacted LABMED for help with Faith's expenses. After speaking with Faith's vet and finding out all her tumors were benign and that she should recover fully, LABMED voted to help out. Faith also received some financial help from members of a Rhodesian Ridgeback list the rescuers contacted and would like to express our appreciation to these kind folks for their generosity. Faith is now happily regaining her health and playing with her rescuers' Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs. She is ready for her forever home -- are you the one? |
