Success StoriesFaye, January 2008
Faye, a 2 yr old chocolate female Lab, was brought into a shelter pregnant and heartworm positive. She was found as a stray and no one came forth to claim her. A decision was made to spay her, and the procedure did not go well. The shelter determined that she was unadoptable and felt that the only recourse was to put her down, but thankfully the shelter contacted a local Labrador Retriever rescue who took her in and proceeded to work to make her recovery successful. When she was brought in she was very malnourished, dehydrated and had suffered severe blood loss during the spay procedure. In this endeavor they requested help with funding her necessary heartworm treatmend from LABMED. With loving care provided by Low Country Lab Rescue, and funding help from LABMED, Faye is now a happy, healthy Labrador who will soon find her 'forever' home. |
