Success StoriesFreddie, November 2001
Freddie is a 5 year old, black Lab that came to LABMED for emergency funding. His applicant found him in a shelter in Maryland. Freddie had a torn anterior cruciate ligament and was to be euthanized if a rescue could not be arranged. A foster home had already been lined up for Freddie with a lady who had recently lost her elderly Lab to cancer. She really wanted Freddie, but did not have the funds for his surgery. LABMED stepped in and quickly agreed to fund Freddie's surgery so that he could be pulled from the shelter. He had his surgery and did very well afterwards. His foster family changed Freddie's name to "Big Jake". They were making plans to make him a permanent part of the family. |
