Success StoriesHeidi2, September 2002Heidi was a 1 year old purebred yellow girl who came to the Heartland Humane Society in St. Peters, Mo. with no identification or microchip. This sweet girl had a sweet disposition, but was very sick with parvo virus. She arrived at the shelter at 63 pounds, but due to the ravaging effects of the disease, dropped to 48 lbs. The veterinary clinic at the Animal Medical Center of Troy agreed to treat Heidi at a discounted rate because of her rescue situation. Upon seeing her, they described Heidi as a mild mannered and friendly Lab, with a very sweet disposition. LABMED was happy to fund Heidis parvo treatment, and she is now recovering nicely, gaining weight and returning to her healthy self. |
