Success StoriesHershey10, November 2003Hershey10 is the November Max's Memorial Fund Dog
Hershey, a young chocolate male Lab from Indiana, is one of the many Labs and Lab-mixes whose heartworm treatment was funded with help from LABMED. Once his heartworm treatment has been completed, Hershey can look forward to a healthy life as long as he receives a heartworm preventative on a regular basis.Hershey had a particularly heavy infestation of heartworms, but the vet felt that his strong constitution would enable him to withstand the stressful treatment successfully. We were pleased to receive this note about Hershey from his foster mom: "Hershey started his heartworm treatment today. He received his first shot. He is not feeling very well, so I am taking extra special care of him. He is sort of lethargic and disoriented, but the vet said that it is normal. He is doing great other than the heartworm treatment, and he is still putting on weight. Everyone at the vet clinic loves him. The vet techs like to play with him and run out to see him when he is there. There have been a couple of families interested in adopting Hershey and they are all very excited about meeting him. Thank you so much for the great news. Hershey and I appreciate it so much." |
