Success Stories

JD, August, 2001

JD This big, friendly 3 year old chocolate male Lab was surrendered by his owners to the Central California Labrador Retriever Rescue (CCLRR). Rescue volunteers took J.D. to a vet and found that he tested positive for heartworms.

CCLRR was able to pay for some of J.D.'s medical expenses but they contacted LABMED for help with the heartworm treatment. The vet confirmed that J.D. had a typical Lab personality - quite excitable and active, but very kind and gentle. LABMED was happy to help fund J.D.'s heartworm treatment and the vet provided a nice rescue discount as well.

A pleasant surprise awaited the rescue volunteers when J.D. was placed in a foster home. This very excitable - almost hyper - Lab almost immediately changed into a sweet cuddly house dog! He sleeps on the bed of his foster mom and follows her everywhere. It seems that all J.D. wanted was someone to give him the loving attention he deserves.

J.D.recovered nicely from his heartworm treatment, was neutered, and is ready to find a family to share his second chance at being a perfect pet!
