Success StoriesLady and Hope, March 1997Lady, a sad yellow girl, was found abandoned and ill on a cold, rainy night. LABMED helped with her initial medical expenses, and as her health gradually improved her rescuers waited to have her spayed. Unfortunately, a low thyroid problem kept Lady from being able to lose weight no matter how little food she ate. Well, 61 days after she was rescued Lady surprised everyone when she gave birth to a single tiny puppy, later named Hope. Giving birth to Hope was difficult for Lady, who continues to have some health problems and is slowing down a bit. However, Hope is a happy active pup that swims like a fish, climbs like a monkey, and takes on life's challenges with gusto. Lady and Hope's adoptive family believe that Lady came to them to insure that her last daughter would always have a loving family to take care of her. |
