Leroy2, July 2002

Leroy2 Leroy is a young, black, male Lab that limped up to an agility practice. The poor boy was covered with fleas and ticks, and had a wound in his left shoulder. The applicant picked him up and took him to the vet, where it was learned that the shoulder wound was from a gun shot. Leroy, like many dogs in Louisiana, was also heartworm positive.

Leroy was treated immediately for the gunshot wound with antibiotics and crate rest. The applicant contacted LABMED for assistance. LABMED funded a portion Leroy's treatment. The applicant/foster found Leroy to be such a nice fellow that she was seriously considering keeping him. Leroy got his second chance through LABMED, and the fact that he picked the right person to limp up to at the agility practice.
