Success StoriesMidnight5, July 2003Midnight5 is the July Buddy Arnold Memorial Fund Dog
It will remain a mystery how this little black Lab puppy came to be so severely injured. When the local animal control brought the 10 week old female pup to Fairfield Animal Rescue in Winnsboro, SC, her leg had been badly damaged. A wire or rope had been wound so tightly around the leg that it had cut down to the bone, causing a massive infection. Both of the bones in the puppy's leg were fractured and pieces of bone were actually missing. A local vet did a very delicate job of reconstructing the leg as much as possible, using pins to hold the broken bones together. Midnight might have a little limp but otherwise will have the full use of her leg once she has recovered from the surgery. The vet donated a good portion of her services and the rescue group worked hard to raise funds to help Midnight. LABMED was contacted and we were happy to be able to contribute to Midnight's second chance. Thanks to the love and caring of many people, Midnight can now look forward to a long and happy life! Once she has fully recovered and is spayed, Midnight will be ready to find a new family to care for her and keep her safe. |
