Success Stories

Molly3, October, 1999

Molly3 Molly, at eight months old, had already spent at least two months roaming free in a neighborhood in Canton, Georgia, and had had a litter of puppies. A neighbor found the puppies and took them to Animal Control, then called Georgia Labrador Retriever Rescue (GLRR) to come for Molly. Although she'd had a litter, she was so young that she still had her puppy coat.

Molly3When a rescue worker took Molly to the vet to be spayed, however, she was found to be positive for heartworms, an obstacle to both her spay surgery and placement in a pet home. GLRR contacted LABMED for help.

Molly came through her heartworm treatment wonderfully, bouncing back with all the vigor of a youthful dog. The dog that her rescue worker and the vet's staff both described as a sweetheart is now happy and healthy in her foster home.
