Momma, January, 2002

Momma is a black lab-mix that was discovered when she had a litter of puppies near a warehouse in Florida. Her rescuers tried for about a year to catch and contain her without success. One asked her daughter-in-law to help. The daughter-in-law was a vet tech, and was able to contain Momma. Once caught, Momma quickly became a sweet and gentle girl. At an estimated two years old, she was already greying around her muzzle. She had not had an easy life.

Momma, having lived on her own in Florida for over a year, was heartworm positive. LABMED was able to help with the funding of Momma's heartworm treatment so that she could be adopted and enjoy the rest of her life with the loving care she deserved.
