Success StoriesPebbles, July 2003
Pebbles was surrendered by her owners to a shelter in Fair Oaks, CA. The lovely 7-year old yellow Lab seemed to be in good health except that she was limping badly. Central California Labrador Retriever Rescue (CCLRR) removed Pebbles from the shelter and took her to a vet to have her leg examined. Pebbles injury was diagnosed as a ruptured cruciate ligament. The vet felt that this was an old injury, and while no complications were expected from the surgery, Pebbles might have some arthritis in her joint later on. Without surgery, the prognosis for Pebbles was very poor and CCLRR asked LABMED for help in rehabilitating Pebbles. We were happy to be able to contribute to the costs of the surgery, and thanks to a generous discount from the vet and funding from CCLRR, Pebbles has had the needed surgery and is now well on the road to recovery. |
