Rachel, June 2004

Rachel

Rachel is a one year old female lab that was an unclaimed stray from Crawford County Animal Shelter in Robinson, Il. Fortunate Pooches and Lab Rescue contacted LABMED when it was discovered that Rachel was heartworm positive.

Rachel is one of the many Lab and Lab-mixes whose heartworm treatment was funded with help from LABMED. Rachel is one of the lucky ones who can look forward to a healthy life as long as she receives heartworm preventive on a regular basis. Heartworm prevention is easy, but the treatment if the dog gets heartworm, can be very hard on a dog.

Please help us to educate dog owners about heartworm disease. Not everyone is aware of how life-threatening heartworms can be and how EASY it is to prevent them. Administering heartworm preventative on a regular basis is part of responsible dog ownership.
