Scout2, February 2003

Scout2

Scout was a cute nine-week-old pup when he was adopted from a rescue group by a couple who was thrilled to bring him into their home. Scout was receiving medicine for parasites, and although he had already been vaccinated to prevent parvo, he had picked up the virus.

His little body was having a hard time combating parvo. Fortunately, when his owners observed symptoms like diarrhea, lethargy, no desire to eat or drink, and a fever, they took him to an emergency clinic where he was rehydrated and placed on IV antibiotics for 48 hours. After improvement followed by another relapse, he improved.

Today Scout is a happy, healthy puppy who is ready for "puppy kindergarten," and his family is ready for the challenge! They have graciously expressed their gratitude for LABMED's "assistance, caring, kindness, and concern." With committed owners and a veterinarian kind enough to grant a rescue discount, LABMED was pleased to pitch in and help Scout get the care he needed for a long, long life in his forever home!
