Success StoriesShadow10, September 2001Shadow, a two year old black female Lab, was turned over to Central California Labrador Retriever Rescue by the owners who no longer wanted her. Shadow had an old wrist injury, evidently sustained some months previously when she jumped out of her owners' pick-up truck. Shadow was unable to bear weight on that leg, using it only for tentative support. Corrective surgery was needed for Shadow, to 'clean out' the wrist area, doing some bone grafts and installing a plate, which would effectively fuse the wrist joint and give Shadow a usable leg again. A potential adoptive family was found for Shadow, assuming that funds could be found for the needed surgery. LABMED, Labrador Life Line, and CCLRR together contributed the funds needed to give Shadow the opportunity to run and play again. Shadow has charmed everyone she met during her rescue adventures and is now embarked on a wonderful new life with a loving family |
