Success StoriesSpencer2, March 2004
Spencer is a young chocolate Lab from Texas that was surrendered by his owners after he was injured. DFW Lab Rescue took him in and provided care and a foster home. At first, his injury appeared to be a foot injury. After an evaluation by a vet, it was found that Spencer's real problem was nerve damage in front leg. He had probably been hit by a car. Spencer couldn't feel his foot and was injuring it by putting it down wrong when he walked. Spencer's right front leg had to be amputated. LABMED helped with funding for Spencer's amputation. He recovered beautifully. His rescuer had this to say, "Losing a leg has not slowed down this active boy. He is in a foster home romping and playing with the other Labs." Spencer is one lucky dog to have found his way to rescue. |
