Success StoriesStar3, July 2003
When she was only one year old, Star was surrendered by her owners to Safe Harbor Lab Rescue (SHLR) in Denver, CO. The little yellow Lab had been hit by a car and had severe injuries to her rear leg, including a broken knee and fractured toes. Star's foot had also become infected from the wounds. With help from LABMED and a substantial discount from the vet, SHLR was able to arrange for the surgery that Star needed to regain her health and mobility. She is expected to make a full recovery, even though a couple of her toes had to be amputated. We were happy to receive this update about Star from SHLR: "Star is ADOPTED!!!!!!!!!! Star stole the heart of one of the vet techs. We parade dozens of Labs through that hospital but no Lab affected so many. She was so brave and so CUTE." Lucky Star can look forward to a long and healthy life with her new owner. |
