Success Stories

Sunny5, September 2003

Sunny5

One rainy afternoon, a lovely young yellow female Lab was sitting along the side of a busy rural road near Athens, GA. Fearing that her life was in danger from the cars speeding by, the friendly dog was taken to a foster home by Canine Angels Rescue and Referrals, Inc. All efforts to find the owner of this sweet girl were in vain.

Sunny was limping badly, and a vet exam and x-ray revealed an old cruciate ligament injury that had not been treated. Sunny was put on crate rest and pain medication, but the only way to restore normal function to her leg was to surgically repair the ligament. With surgery, the outlook for Sunny to regain full use of her leg was excellent, and LABMED was happy to contribute to funding the needed procedure.

Sunny now has a bright future and will make a wonderful addition to the lucky family who adopts her when her recuperation is complete.
