Success Stories

Tika, October, 2001

Tika Tika is a young black Lab mix that was wondering the streets of Huntingburg, Indiana. She was picked up by animal control and taken to their shelter where she waited for her people. They never came. Second Chance Dog Rescue was called and took Tika in.

At one point in time, her leg was broken, possibly from being hit by a car. The leg had healed on it's own, but not correctly. One piece of bone was bulging, threatening to break through the skin. Surgery was needed to reset the bone.

The ladies at Second Chance Dog Rescue were happy that LABMED was able to provide funding to give Tika another chance.
