Success Stories

Tyler2, April 2004

Tyler's story as written by his rescuer:

Tyler2

Tyler's owners had him for a month before turning him over to the Wake County Animal Shelter in Raleigh, NC. He had been there for quite a while when my roommate, Punita and I adopted him. We had him for a few days before we found out he had heartworms. This was very difficult to hear when living on graduate student stipends.

We encouraged family members pitch in (thanks Julie and Joycie!) and LABMED's generous donation was a great help to us. Tyler had no complications with his treatment. His weeks of lethargy and recovery from the treatment coincided with Punita's recovery from an illness and they convalesced together. I am sure having someone to nap with was a great comfort to them both.

Tyler just gets sweeter every day and he is very happy to have a secure home. He would like to say thanks to LABMED for all their help.
