Success Stories

Zack, July 1999

photo of ZackZack's second chance came when a young couple contacted Georgia Labrador Retriever Rescue (GLRR) looking for an addition to their family. They already had 2 rescue dogs, but wanted a Labrador to round out their family.

GLRR had just become aware of a young male in the Cherokee County Humane Society. He had already been under their care for 11 days and was at the end of his time. But, like many strays he was heartworm positive, making him very hard to place.

When she learned that the young couple had experience with a heartworm positive dog and the treatment involved, the rescue worker knew they would be a perfect match. People met people, dogs met dogs and Zack's fate was sealed. All they needed was financial help with the heartworm treatment. So they turned to LABMED.

Zack has fitted very nicely into the family and is well on his way to being a happy, healthy, playful Labrador.
