Success Stories

Zeus2, October 2001

Zeus2 Zeus2 was a three-year-old, yellow lab that was turned in to a shelter in Ohio as a stray. The applicant was notified through Lake Erie Labrador Retriever Rescue program that there were two labs running out of time in the shelter. She rescued Zeus2 and a yellow female lab at the same time. The female lab was adopted into a permanent home. Zeus2 was taken in to a vet for vaccinations and a check-up. He tested positive for heartworms. He was otherwise healthy, so the vet recommended treatment with immiticide.

LABMED was able to help with funding for Zeus2's heartworm treatment. He came through the treatment in fine shape. Please remember to give your dogs their monthly heartworm preventative so they won't be infected with heartworms like Zeus2 was.
